Synopsis

Orchita Sporshia is one of Bangladesh’s most versatile and acclaimed actresses. Beginning her career behind the camera as an assistant director, she transitioned to acting in 2011 and has since built a portfolio spanning feature films, OTT series, and over 200 television dramas. A recipient of the Meril Prothom Alo, CJFB, and BIFA Awards, she is celebrated for portraying complex, resilient characters. Her notable works include Abar Boshonto, Kathbirali, Sincerely Yours Dhaka, and Manusher Bagan.

    EARLY CAREER

    THE BEGINNING

    Sporshia transitioned into acting in 2011, first appearing in an Airtel commercial and became their brand ambassador. She made her acting debut in Airtel Presents Arunodoyer Tarun Dol, which earned her widespread recognition. She also appeared in short films including The Day of Love, which received recognition at the Kinoproba Film Festival in Russia.

    TELEVISION DOMINANCE

    Between 2011 and 2018, she appeared as protagonist in over 180 single-episode television dramas. Among them, Arunodoyer Tarun Dol and Impossible Five gained particular acclaim. She also acted in several television series, including Ujan Ganger Naiya (produced by the BBC, seasons 1 and 2), and appeared in multiple short films and music videos.

    CINEMA & OTT DEBUT

    GLOBAL PREMIERE

    Her first feature film, Abar Boshonto (2019), earned her the Meril Prothom Alo Award and the CJFB Award for Best Debutant. She also appeared in Sincerely Yours, Dhaka (2019), Bangladesh's first anthology film, which premiered at the Busan International Film Festival and later screened at more than 20 international festivals.

    In January 2020, she received widespread appreciation for her performance in Kathbirali, which received both critical and commercial success. That year, she also starred in Chhok (2020), released directly on OTT due to the pandemic.

    BOLD SOCIAL NARRATIVE

    In 2021, she starred in Nabab LLB, portraying a rape survivor. While the role generated controversy, her performance received significant critical praise. She also appeared in the film Bandhan and notable web series including Paanch Phoron (HoiChoi) and Bou Diaries (Bioscope).

    Released Shushagotom and web series Roilo Baki Dosh. Responding to audience demand, returned to single-episode dramas with 15+ hits including Noor (Dhallywood Film Award for Best Actress) and Sheshta Tumi (BIFA nomination).

    BACHELOR POINT & BEYOND

    LATER WORK

    From 2025, she is starring in Bangladesh's most popular series, Bachelor Point Season 5, with 120 episodes running till 2026 December. In early 2026, her film Manusher Bagan was awarded Best Feature Film on Social Subject at the 15th Delhi International Film Festival in New Delhi and announced for release.
